Susan Murphy watercolor demonstration: Painting the Face in WatercolorDate:

Who:  Susan Avis Murphy, Sandy Spring resident and signature member of the American Watercolor Society and Baltimore Watercolor Society.  Susan has more than 40 years of experience painting in watercolor, teaching, and demonstrating.  SEE THE VIDEO MADE OF THIS EVENT !!

What:  Susan will do a live demonstration of watercolor painting.  She will paint a portrait of a famous person, yet to be announced, explaining her methods as she goes along.  Guests will be able to easily view the painting in progress because a live video feed will project the image onto a large screen.  Also Susan will be painting under a “demonstration mirror”, enabling the audience to see the entire table with paper and palette.  You will receive a handout describing the process and colors used, so that you can follow along step-by-step.

When:  Sunday, November 17, 3-5pm; light refreshments

Where:  the Doctor Bird Room of the Sandy Spring Museum, 17901 Bentley Road, Sandy Spring, MD

Why:  as an educational adjunct to our current exhibit featuring the artwork of Susan Avis Murphy
